San Francisco. £2058 expensive?

Hi

Looking at booking a 3 week trip to San Francisco in June and was wondering if £2058 for 2 adults a 3 year old and a 1 year old was expensive? Adult flight is £683 and most companies around the £700 mark.

Does the infant get a seat?
Will they still be less than 2 years on the return date?

    Hi

Yes she will still be under 2 and she'll be on our lap. My other daughter will have her own seat

It's a long outbound flight with very young children, perhaps consider a stop on the outbound sector at say Boston or Toronto and then do the flight to SFO the next day.

Good idea, but we fly to Florida regularly so flight length not really a problem. Also a stopover with a hotel will probably make it more expensive

It's a longer flight with an extra 3hours time difference for a bigger jet lag impact compared to Florida, you arrive much more tired and I didn't travel with very young children.

Indirect flights can be much cheaper which pays for a hotel, so not more expensive.

London to New York (cheapest option) is £1500. Internal flights are currently £175 each so with the hotel I think would be more expensive.

Also Florida flight is 9 hours and we don't find that a problem and I'd rather do that than fuss with extra flights and hotels.

Perhaps compare your preferred flight to Florida with something similar to SFO.

Id rather fly straight there too.

    Who are those prices with?

Are you travelling around when you get to SF? Just wondered as 3 weeks would be a really long time there otherwise :)

    Hi Clare

Yes we are. It's part of a wedding so we're staying with relatives, a stag do is involved, LA, Disney etc etc

have a look at air newzealand - they have some great deals and also do the skycouch option that is great for families - I believe they fly there (I flew to LA with them last month and I was very impressed with them)
