Should I carry on Paying NI?

I am self employed, but thinking of emigrating within the EU in 2014. I have had a pension forecast from the DPW showing that I have 40 qualifying years from Full time education, employment and signing on as well as the last 8 years self employment. Obviously therefore I now qualify for the full state pension (at age 66), I am now 56.

Is there any point in continuing to pay the £2.65 per week when I cease work?

although one can't predict the future, there would seem to be no point is paying NI once you cease work

I can't think of any reason to (unless they change the no of years) but I would contribute if you work, into the pension scheme of the new country. To build up a new/seperate pot- it might even be mandatory.

And be sure to keep a full record of your contributions, and evidence of them. Governments have so over-promised on pensions that they are going to be looking hard for ways to wriggle out of their commitments. (A French friend … but, enough! Keep records!!! That's a command!)
Free the dunston one next time too.

The french can't even be bothered to send me my council tax bills- even though I give them the correct address, every year by visiting them in August (this is over 10 years now).

they are still sending my bills to where I lived in 1996.
