Hello,
My whole family are looking to go on holiday together. My granddad has always wanted to stay in a log cabin, so we were looking at taking them to one.
The only problem is finding somewhere that will be suitable.
Its for a family group ages ranging from 81-1, about 12-15 people and my Nan has limited walking because of poor health. (another reason that we want to go on one last big holiday)
The only place I have seen is Bluestone national park. I have been here myself so know it would be possible, but this is about a 6-8 hour car journey from home, so I am just wondering if anyone knows of a holiday resort in the north of England that has log cabins with groundfloor bedrooms that sleeps approx 8 people?
TIA for any help.

If you google log cabins north of England lots more come up.0 -
Have you looked at Hoseasons? They have a lot of lodges in the North of England0

Not sure if it was a log cabin but a few years ago some of our family did a family holiday to Ayr. We couldn't go due to other commitments but like you, big group and large age range, also with limited mobility could be worth looking at that area and seeing what's about.Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

We have done lots of lodge holidays, bluestones is wonderful and they have lodges that are ground floor and can be interconnected to accommodate your whole party. If your worried about your nanas mobility then you can hire golf buggys (we always do this for the sheer fun!) from memory it's £80 oer 5 days. There is so much for the family to do together, from archery to spa to magical treasure hints for the toddlers. Well worth it.
Try Forest holidays as well. They have large lodges with ground floor bedrooms, we have stayed at keldy which was phenomenal. They have several location in the north west. Pricey but stunning (and having a hot tub is great for family fun).
For a nice flat site try goosewood! flower of May holidays, you would need two lodges. Something like the kingfisher would be good. It's close to York and there's loads to do on site like a small pool and a game room for the kids as well as playground. Most lodges have hot tubs.
Good luck and have a wonderful time
Oh and PM me if you want any more info on the above

Ellie when are you thinking of going and for how long . I have one in North Wales and can link you into two more on site . Its an hour and a half from Liverpool . hard as nails on the internet . wimp in the real world :cool:0

Liverpool is the capitol of North Wales isn't it....
If the above is no good I would highly recommend Centre Parcs Winfeld in Cumbria, the cabins have ground floor and upstairs bedrooms and the site is great. At least do a google and see what you think.0 -
