Tax Credits & ESA Nightmare

This is getting unbelievable now...
To cut a long story, it seems every time we call Tax Credits to note a change of circumstances our TC are reduced even further! The last call this month was to let them know my ESA stopped with the new estimate below.
Income of £20300 for 13/14
Wife £16500 30 hours PW
ESA £3700
Two children in education
£139 a month Tax Credits?
Surely that cant be right?
This is last years...
Previous Tax Credits were about £385 a month when our income was more.
Income of £22400 for 12/13
Wife £17000 30 hours PW
ESA £5400
Two children in education
My ESA finished as i was in the WRAG ESA, so the one year came to an end. I am not entitled to claim ESA CB/ESA IB/JSA CB/JSA IB for various rules, so i am going around in a circle.
I am not really fit for work atm and i have just finished counselling which helped and i was just about ready to enter work, but now all this stress has put me back to where i was.
So how does a call to TC telling them our income is lower make our TC payments even lower?
This is just crazy and tbh, i feel like just calling them to stop the claim and starting a fresh claim as i am pretty sure they have messed up somewhere and we can not get any sense from them about it.

What was your joint income in 11/12?
If you can post that it might explain the figures
