Previous colleague (not very reliable) asking to send him a copy of cv : will you?

I too am confused and think I've missed something.
Weren't you getting in touch with these contacts in order to help you find work? So surely you'd expect them to ask for a cv if they think they have something?
Frankly I had my own way to find work which was using a specific jobboard [usually (before I become unemployed for more than a year) it does not take more than two weeks before a first interview].
The person asking for my CV is in on linkedin network and I though that he could refer me to the person directly.
I still do not trust this person as stated in the title of my thread ('not reliable').0 -

Does your CV indicate the rates you have been paid for work? I.e. something other contractors would be interested in?
Personally, I would only send my CV to someone who I had had a conversation with that went "Send me your CV and I'll pass it on to HR/project manager etc".
Whilst I can't see that any harm or "humiliation" can come to you, by sending a CV to former colleagues, I just can't see the logic in sending a CV to random people who are in no position to offer employment.
He is a contractor (just like me) and he wanted I send him my see to 'see what he get for me'.0 -
I wouldn't send my CV to any current or past colleagues in the same line of work as me. I've spent a lot of time working out what I've done and how to measure that - some of them would copy and paste into their own CVs. Why help the direct competition?
The only exception is that after we both left the same company he had a better promotion with another company at a higher position than mine. Now, he became a contractor just like me.0 -
I'd get someone to read over you CV if your posts are anything to go by.0

For this grammatical mistake it is just a careless mistake.
Obviously I wanted to write : "I still do not trust this person . . . " instead of "I still does not trust this person . . . "0 -

OK, but what about this one?He is a contractor (just like me) and he wanted I send him my see to 'see what he get for me'.
No shame in getting help with literacy no matter who you are.0 -
OP ask for an email address for who ever does the recruiting or even contact the firm and enquire about any jobs.0

You are definitively right. At the end I refused to send him my cv but now will start contacting my connections to see if they can refer me to someone that may need my IT services.0
