Insurance payment on store card

in Credit cards
Hi, I am at my wit's end over this and would really welcome some advice.
Five years ago, when she was 18 my daughter was talked into an insurance policy against identity fraud, to be taken from her Dorothy Perkins store card which is administered by Santander. The insurance is an annual one although she recieves no notification of renewal before she gets the bill from Santander.
She has twice tried (by email and by phone) to cancel this insurance, but to no avail. Last year I spoke to Santander (who were reluctant to give me much help due to data protection) about how she could cancel the store card (its never used otherwise) but they said the insurance (which just comes up on the bill as "external insurance" - no details) had to be cancelled first. Unfortunately my daughter thought she'd done this last year, and now doesn't have the insurer's details - she got rid of the paperwork when she moved house.
The Santander bill comes to me (although she hasn't lived with me for four years) and I've paid the last three times because I just get bombarded by increasingly aggressive calls from them until the bill is cleared. I could just return the next bill as "address unknown" (there is no point forwarding it to my daughter who can't afford to pay it) but that would risk her credit status.
I feel very angry and trapped - angry because an 18 year old was sweet-talked into something she didn't need and has had her attempts to cancel it ignored and trapped because there seems no way out of this! Would getting her to write to Santander asking for details of the insurer be any use - I am quite prepared to draft a letter for her leaving them in no uncertain tems that the policy must be cancelled.
any advice would be gratefully received.
thank you

Has she tried phoning them to ask for details of the insurer?0

Hi, no she's always dealt directly with the insurers although she hasn't got anywhere. Would Santander be willing to give that info by phone - I hadn't thought she could try phoning although I did think they might respond to a letter?0

Phoning would be the quickest option. But she will need to do it, rather than you.0

I'll suggest she does that thanks - I know it will have to be her as I won't get any further than I did last year0
