Advice - Neighbour says ceiling leaking

Hello
My neighbour in the flat below has come to me to say that the ceiling is leaking which was noticed the day before but got worse yesterday ? dripping down. I was shown a photograph of a wet patch on the ceiling in bathroom. My kitchen is above.
This has happened on 2 occasions before years ago at least 5 years in between.
The first time I asked to have a look at the damage to try and help as my flat was dry. I was advised I couldn't look. Nothing happened after this, I didnt hear anything else.
The second time I was told there was a leak but then told that it was a mistake, maybe something to do with the guttering (I can't remember it was so long ago). Nothing happened after this, I didnt hear anything else.
Apparantly this used to happen years ago before I moved into the property. I have lived there over 10 years.
I pulled out my washing machine which I have done in the past and there is no sign of water damage to the floor/leak I have looked at pipes and also near the boiler but the kitchen is dry. I will check under the sink as well.
I appreciate there are pipes underneath floorboards but I would like some advise on what to do next. Can there be an intermittent pipe leak?
I had thought it may be due to the guttering/rain as has been raining over the past few days, but not sure.
I must admit I thought in the past they may be trying it on, but not so sure.
Neighbour says that when they had someone in to look before they said it was coming from the ceiling and couldnt be from guttering. I never had any more feedback about this.
Any advice on what to do? Neighbour has said she will get someone in to have a look and give me some feedback. Also said she had decorated bathroom last year.
I will ask again if I can see the damage to be able to try and pinpoint where it could be coming from.
Any advice appreciated, as I am trying to get my head around it all. Thanks
