  • Depends on your company's policy. Can you ask someone in HR?

The 27th is a working day (Friday), so if this is your usual payroll day, and there are no special Christmas arrangements, then it will be the 27th.

Which bank are you with? Depends what date your employer put for the BACS settlement date with their bank.

  • Hi, I started a new job 6 weeks ago (a week before everyone was paid) so I knew I would have to wait until the next pay day in which I would receive 5 weeks pay. Tuesday 24th Nov came (payday) and I received a wage slip but no money.. everyone else had been paid. Apparently there was an error with my sort code. I have still not been paid and may have to wait a further month to be paid. I am now struggling to get to work.. well I cannot physically get there. I have lent money and received lifts for the past 5 nearly 6 weeks. I have only had a weeks wage £250 from my old job to last me. I do not want to lose my job as I have just started but work do not seem to be resolving this. I also have birthdays,Christmas and other things coming up. Does anyone know of a solution (would be a great help) I am due in tomorrow at half 10 but as I have said I cannot get there and they are aware of this

you don't mention what the issue is with the sort code.
If you gave the correct details and the employer processed it incorrectly, have you asked for an advance given that this is their error?
If you gave them the incorrect sort code then you may be left with friends and family whilst they sort it out or go in an speak to your bank and see if they can give you an overdraft facility in the circumstances
  • Apparently they had entered the number in wrong. They are saying that I may have to wait a further 4 weeks for pay which would mean 9 weeks unpaid work. I wasn't fussed about waiting 5 due to when I started but 9 weeks with out pay is ridiculous! And they keep saying they have to wait for the money to bounce back which isn't really my fault

If it's their error then it is totally unacceptable that they don't pay you. They should pay you and they should wait for the original money being returned. Can you ask for a cash sub and tell them to take the repayment from your overdue wages?

Ask them for a BACS payment.... it should then go in straight away.
