Donation on ticket prices

How do people feel about entry prices showing "donation" prices. £16.50 with donation or £14.00 for entry to Kensington Palace for instance? Seems the £16.50 is more prominently displayed. Because you know there are different prices asking to pay £14.00 makes you look stingy. Four of us are going so it would be a large saving if we asked to pay the £14.00.

It's up to the individual, but it does make a big difference to the organisation.
The Gift Aid "rule" is that if a donation is made that is greater than or equal to 10% of the entrance fee, then the organisation can claim the Gift Aid on the donation and the entrance fee. (There are more rules, but that's a quick summary)
If you don't want to pay, but don't want to appear stingy, just tell them you are not a UK tax payer, and so cannot make a gift aid donation.
I do some voluntary work for a museum near to where I live, and this does make a very big difference for us. However, we do offer visitors a free cup of tea or coffee if they do chose to make the Gift Aid donation (yes, I know it's not really "free", but would be more expensive than the donation).

I'm annoyed with the Cardiff New Theatre.
Basically they want to replace the seating and to fund this, there is a 50p per ticket seat replacement contribution.....its not voluntary and you have to pay it if you want the ticket (never mind the tickets aren't exactly cheap either!)
