Hi All,
My wife has been rejected on a Halifax 0% card despite having a 80% chance according to MSE checker tool.
Just wondering how long should we wait before trying with a different provider?
I've run a check on her file and it is all ok, apart from not being fully up to date with balances (ie. one shows still some outstanding balance which was cleared a week or so ago).
Thanks!

I'd leave it 4 weeks before applying anywhere else, but try not to apply for more than 3 providers in a 6 month period unless your credit report is prestine (in which case you could probably do 4 - 5)
Don't re-apply to the same provider for at least 6 months, and remember the ones that are simply rebrands of others.0 -

You need to find the obvious cause of the rejection from Halifax.
Salary of wife?
Association with you?
Credit cards?
Loans?
Electoral roll?
Total credit available ?
Total debts?0 -

Thanks for reply Bugsy.
She's just over 35k and we have no joint bank accounts. She has only had a single CC with 0% interest before and we have just paid it off. She was given 3.5k credit at the time and we used it to get a car for her.
We are on the electoral roll and have been for the past few years every year.
According to Noddle, her score is 4/5 while mine is 5/5...
It was really strange..0 -
