Faulty bathroom fittings

Hi
We have just renovated our house, including two bathrooms. We have been supplied with 2 faulty thermostatic valves by a particular bathroom store. I am in the process of trying to get our money back via my credit card, but has anyone had any luck getting a bathroom store to pay for the costs of fitting new valves (or anything else)? Also one of the thermostat controls for the underfloor bathroom heating sourced from elsewhere doesn't work properly - they have offered to replace, but again I will need to get the electrician in to fit the new control...Am thinking that realistically I might need to go the small claims court, but would be grateful for any thoughts/tips. Thanks
