Virgin Mobile AVOID!!!!!!

Options
Nothing but problems with Virgin Mobile. Contract cancelled 3 months ago and still they are taking money, despite calls and emails. Absolutely inept, and imo the worst customer services that I have ever had to contact. Any statements given to me that things had now been settled, and that a refund was on it's way for the monies taken in error, have been lies. I would not suggest to anyone that they deal with this company.Truly truly awful.

  • Did you cancel the direct debit at your bank? That would have been my first step after cancelling a contract.

I have a rolling sim contract and , prior to that, a 2 year one and have not had any probs.
  • Update: The refund has now been made ..... but credited to the mobile account that has been cancelled. Truly! The mobile account that is no more in my name, the one that has been cancelled, has been credited! Absolutely unbelievable! One day I'll be able to smile about this saga, but right now I'm amazed at the intellectual deficiency of the people that I have encountered, not to mention the lack of even a smidgin of common sense from anyone in the Virgin mobile team.
Now to getting the refund credited to my bank account. So, another trip into the unbelievable world inhabited by the Virgin mobile cretins.

  • My son had a similar experience , he had a 2 yr deal with a DD to my bank account while at Uni.

Now he's working I told him to switch to his own bank account. No problem, which he did in a branch and got a letter from Virgin confirming the new arrangement with a reference number.

Cue the next month a payment is taken from my account so I cancelled the DD.

So he gets a text saying the service will be stopped unless he calls them NOW!

He rang the number and the operator denied flatly they had sent him a letter until he quoted the reference number. Even then they couldn't find any details.

    We think it's sorted now.......
