Best savings account for home sale proceeds

I am new to the site and was wondering if anyone can offer me some friendly advise / help?

I am in the final stages of selling my home, and will not be forward purchasing for a few months, so I need to find a suitable account for my money - approx. £350k. I would of course like to be able to get the best interest rate and also not have the money tied up for any length of time.

Can anyone recommend a suitable home for my sale proceeds?

The easiest and safest option is a Direct Saver with NS&I. http://www.nsandi.com/savings

The interest rate is abysmal, but it's the way the savings world is these days. You can get marginally more if you distribute your money across some other accounts (remember no more than £85K per person per financial institution for safety). You can find some ideas by browsing the forum but it might not be worth your while.
