UK Holiday Rental Ideas for Family in October

Hi All,

Next October is my wife's 30th birthday and I would like to go away somewhere in the UK to celebrate. I am also inviting her and my parents so there will be 6 adults, our son who will be 3 and we will have an infant who is due in May so will be around 5 months (age range is 5 months - 64 years old)

We live in Shropshire and are flexible on location so long as it is within around 3 hours drive. What I'm looking for is somewhere that might be suitable at that time of year? Obviously the weather is going to unpredictable but somewhere with a few family activities would be good, so far I have only thought of Bluestone in South Wales as it has a bit going on onsite but is doesn't necessarily have to be a holiday park, just a good area so I can start researching some holiday rentals.

If Dartmoor is not too far, have a look at the Manor House. The price you pay per night includes all food and huge number of leisure/craft activities, I understand they have just opened a brand new spa. Rooms can be a bit basic but you can upgrade to a better one.
