Royal Mail Claim

About six weeks ago one of my ebay parcels arrived badly damaged courtesy of Royal Mail's parcel service.

The buyer emailed me photos of the packing and the damaged item and said the fault was with RM as it was well packaged. I immediately refunded my buyer and started a claim for £14.00 with RM.

I sent the photographs and copy email with my claim and after a few weeks received a reply saying as the item was glass/china it was not covered in a claim (??). The item was actually cast metal.

I sent another letter explaining this and yesterday received a "goodwill gesture" cheque for £5.00 and telling me this was a one off payment as I should have sent them the original packaging. Not sure how I'd do this really!

Yet again I've replied (I'm losing patience fast now) requesting the balance of my claim plus extra for stamps to cover my unecessary letters to them. I've also sent a copy to Postwatch.

This is now war   and I'm so cheesed off at their inability to read their correspondence/claims properly.
