Is your daughter a minor? If so see this LINK
It refers to Barclays shares but would apply equally to Royal Mail or any other share.
If these shares are a long term investment for a minor, it may be possible to put them in a junior ISA
If you follow the instructions in the link provided by 2010 in post 2, your daughter will get a share certificate. She would then need to open an account with a broker or nominee company to hold them electronically.
Does anybody know if it's possible to transfer a certificated holding from one person, directly to a nominee account in another name?0 -

No you can`t.
As you say the OP would have to transfer from her name to the daughter and then the daughter would have to open a nominee account in her own name.0
