How do you get Equifax to update their records?

I have had 3 phone calls and 2 emails and submitted documents with Equifax asking them to update the fact that my credit report says I am not on the electoral role when, in fact, I am. They have not done anything and it is getting incredibly frustrating as we are in the process of applying for a mortgage. Anyone know how I can get through to someone who will actually do what they say??
Many thanks!

  • Speak to the local authority, if they have the address slightly different to that of the CRA then it will fail the data match so you'll not be shown correctly. I had this problem until the the local authority removed part of the address, and now I am reported on all CRA's as being on the electoral roll.

Even if Equifax fix it for you, then when the next set of data is sent by your local authority, it will mismatch again if the local authority have not corrected the address.

When did you register on the electoral roll?
  • Best of luck with getting Equifax to correct their info on your file. My daughter & son-in-law have made about a dozen calls & half a dozen emails & sent evidence of bills & rent paid to Call Credit to try to get them to show the correct information on their file. So far they haven't even been able to find out why what they are able to view online is different to what Call Credit have advised the bank who they are trying to get a mortgage with. I wish you luck in your endevour and with your mortgage.
