No CCA but want to offer F&F to clear debt

Hi all,

I have several debts and recently sent CCA requests to all.

A couple replied to say they did not have the CCA. What are my options now? I want to off F&F at about 30% of original debt. Can I use the fact that they are unable to provide CCA to help achieve this settlement?

Advice and template letters will be much appreciated.

Thanks
THD

When were the accounts taken out?

  • If taken out pre April 2007, then yes, probably.

If one company won't accept it, tell them to go away and come back when they will accept it. Or wait for them to sell to a company that will.

  • No CCA generally means no debt. So don't pay.

If I said that you owe me £100 would you pay me just because I say so? Or would you want to see proof?
  • Hi all, thank you for your replies, the debts are all pre 2007 and all of the defaults have dropped off of my credit file and I continue to pay £1 token payments.

My credit score is good and I want to clear all of my debts so that I can get a mortgage but I do not want to do anything that would cause them to put anything negative on my credit report.

If I am unable to come to an agreement with some of my creditors for F&F settlement do you think it would be ok to continue to pay what I can and still apply for a mortgage?

I am worried that the outstanding debts (although not showing in my credit report) might effect my chances of getting a mortgage and also I don't know if my creditors could then come after me once they know that I am a home owner.

Again any help is greatly received.

    Thanks
