Help with application

I am trying to complete an application for a job and on the section of current and previous employment, it states the following:

Do not tailor your work history per position

Can someone help me out with an explanation please as my brain doesn't seem to be functioning correctly today

It sounds to me (and I could be wrong) that they want you to describe each job in your work history generally, and not necessarily (or only) highlight the aspects that would be relevant to the specific job that you are applying.

If this is the case, and it's a large company, it could be that they are looking for various different job roles to be filled (and you may be considered for more than one role) and/or will keep your application on file and match your skills to future jobs openings.

I could be wrong of course - but that's hoe it reads to me!
