Self assessment return for uni student

Hi,
I've recently (June 2013) graduated from university and set myself up as a self employed web developer.
As such I have 0 earnings for the tax year 2012 - 2013.
I have two questions... how do I begin to fill out my tax return for this year? Also does my student finance count in there or not (as I was a student).
Any advice greatly received as I'm extremely confused at the moment.

When did you set up as self-employed? If after April 2013 then you shouldn't need to do last years tax return.
What are you thinking student finance is? It doesn't count as income.0 -
I would just submit a nil return and maybe put a note in the additional information box saying that you were still a student in the year and therefore had no income.
Did you suffer any expenses in the year to 5 April 2013 relating to your self employment? If so, you can set these against your 2013-14 income on next year's tax return, as pre trading expenses.0
