Sad Hydrangea Vanilla Frais
Have just come back from 2 weeks away and my magnificent Vanilla Frais is in a terrible state. The leaves are all brown and the flowers have mostly withered. There are still one or two live stems. Obviously has not had enough water, despite the rain.
I am pretty certain that all will be OK next year so long as I keep it watered and also repot. Normal pruning is usually hard in the spring but I am wondering if I should prune off the dead heads and maybe cut back a little now to improve the look of the plant.
Any advice welcome.

I think you should leave the dead heads on to help protect the plant over winter, in case it gets very cold0
