Team Leader right to tell my friend that he would be sacked if took anymore sick ?

Unfortunately, I thing the only hope is to call it a day or change assignments. It's no secret that workers like these are real drain on the productivity of the UK, and that current employment rules allow for such workers to be sacked without red tape, so I'm not sure what kind of good news you want to hear said.0

Count yourself lucky then that you do not suffer from sickness which means that you have to have time off work and LOSE PAY.
So, being human and falling ill is a drain on productivity:(

THere are two ways of reading this. One is the big stick, but the other is a sympathetic team leader giving your friend a heads up - it might be that the team leader really wants to keep your friends services, and has already gone out on a limb to keep him - but won't be able to again.0

I feel really sorry for the team leader if the temp goes off to HR. Sounds like he's a reasonable guy giving the temp the 'heads up'.
Mind you I think HR will ignore the temp - but look at his sickness.
Unfortunately nowadays companies can't just cover for absence workers and they might try and get someone more reliable in.0
