With the Geordie aliens. Gawd it's annoying! 'I got a loan I needed from tha cumfort of me own hawm!' :rotfl:
And don't get me started on those dreadful Wonga ads with the daft granny and grandad puppets.
It's bad enough that they dish out these loans (with exorbitant interest rates) like sweets, without making overly stupid and irritating adverts!
Sorry, not sure why I am posting this: just fancied a rant :rotfl: Are there any loan ads or other ads that encourage excessive and/or unnecessary spending annoy anyone else here?

This is why I'm SO glad I haven't got a TV. The Wonga puppets are sinister - I think they're plotting to enslave us all...;)
I hate the ones where some gormless mug describes their accident at work and how they got compensation, plugging some ambulance-chasing firm. There is some SERIOUS dross at the shallow end of the gene-pool.0 -
Yes the 1 that had Kerry Katona advertising a pdl.0

I used to hate the old Pounds to pocket ad, with the girl going on a beauty course and the old woman whose car needed fixed.
Also agree Wonga ads are irritating. In fact, they've started to irritate me even more now they use 3D animations.0 -
90% of all ads are serious dross....it's not just ads for loans or other financial products.0

I always mute the volume when the ads are on.You may question anything I say. Just be polite, otherwise you go straight on to my Ignore List, which funds a good old fashioned knees-up every Xmas. Cheers;)0

Shouldn't this thread be on the Praise, Vent & Warnings board?0

I have to wonder if the human race is going backwards when people take out finance at rates 50X or even 1000X the rate of inflation.0

Just realised this is another benefit of recording everything and watching off the hard drive, I realised the advantage of generally fast forwarding through the ads but not this specifically.0

This is what with we do with about 80% of what we watch! The sky plus invention is the best invention since the wheel in my opinion.
I can stop a programme when someone starts gabbling over what I'm watching, and rewind it! AND I can FF through these Godawful bloomin' ads!
Thanks for the posts on here everyone. They made me smile.

We hardly watch anything (other than sport) live on TV these days. Everything gets recorded to a hard drive then we can fast forward through adverts.
I wish the Tiny Pop tv channel didn't have so many adverts, my kids have an ever growing shopping list for me of all the toys they 'need'..."We act as though comfort and luxury are the chief requirements of life, when all that we need to make us happy is something to be enthusiastic about” – Albert Einstein0
