Chicken marinated in yoghurt

Im not a big cook and my cullinary skills don't stretch very far but i thought i would have a go at making a curry to freeze instead of splashing out on takeaways.
I found a good recipe and today started to prepare, i noticed it advised marinating the chicken (in yogurt, lime juice, garlic and spices) for at least 4-6 hours. I was hoping to have it for tea this evening but couldn't wait the 4 hours for it to marinate so i have covered the bowl in cling film and left in fridge to marinate overnight.
By the time i am back from work and ready to cook it, it will have been marinating for over 24 hours. Is it safe to leave chicken in yoghurt for this long or will it go off?

I personally wouldn't, but its up to you really. I expect someone else will be along next to say it will be fine.0

Aslong as the chicken & yogurt is still in date the next day it'll be fine, just longer for the flavours to soak in. Can't think of any reason not to but just my personal opinion!0

IMO it will be absolutely fine. I usually marinade things for 12-24 hours. Let us iknow.0

Just to add...it should be covered and refrigerated.0

Thanks guys!
I decided not to risk it so grilled the chicken earlier, its now in the fridge fast cooling and i will reheat some tomorrow when i make the curry and freeze the rest.
Never marinated anything before but it smells lovely0
