Last date of paid employment

This may seem obvious - but I could do with confirmation.
If I hand my notice in with one month's calendar notice on 6th of September - is my last day on 5th October or 6th October?
& to what date am I paid? As 5th & 6th October are Saturday & Sunday do I get paid up to Friday 4th October - as I don't work weekends. Or do I get paid up to the exact one month notice day of 5th or 6th October.

Your last day is Friday the 4th.
You will get paid four days salary. Annual salary/52/5*40
