Tax Code 'Split' - Can I split code before I have been paid?

Hi, I am a student and I had 2 part time jobs. I earned well under my tax allowance so I had my tax code split. I left one of these jobs 2 months ago but I have just got myself another job to replace this, so I am back in the same position of having two jobs but still earning under the tax allowance for the year.

I have not been paid from my new job yet, so I am wondering if I would be able to ring up and organise the new tax code split before I get paid so I'm not taxed or do I have to wait till I have been paid for the first time so second jobs details are on my 'system'

Hope these makes sense :o

When you left the job you should have been given a P45 in many parts.
You should give some of these to your new employer who will use the tax code from it.
The only thing that is constant is change.
