First Credit Card help

HI there!

I am looking into getting my first credit card, and I am finding it all very confusing. All I want to do is build my credit rating as I've never borrowed any money in my life. Any help with where to go for the simplest and cheapest credit card (although I am planning on only spending a little bit at a time on my card and paying it back in full immediately). Any advice and help is very much appreciated.

I have had a look on the MSE website but just find it all too confusing going on about balance transfers etc. can't find anything for newbies to credit cards, but maybe I'm just not looking hard enough.

If your bank account is reasonably well run (without any major hiccups), apply to your bank's Credit Card first.
