    Seem to recall the guy got many hundreds of watchers...

    Very clever! Ebay Pulse lists the most-watched items, and that's one of the craftiest strategies for attracting watchers that I've seen.
    I often get several watchers and no bids. It's annoying. I do often watch stuff myself without bidding, though.
