Watching an auction

I know it's not going to happen but does anybody wish there was an option to send a message to all the watchers saying 'Just put a bl**dy bid on!!'
Sorry, got an item with 12 watchers!

I don't always put a bid on a item I'm watching.
Sometimes I'm watching them to see what they go for as I will soon be selling a similar item myself.0 -
True, do it myself, but 12!!0

yeah had a similar thing yesterday, had a kids wooden castle/playhouse and had 15 watchers, starting price 75.00, and yes your have guess it...... it went for 75.00. strange stuff this ebay lark.Listen to what people say, but watch what people what people do!!0

Try around 80 watchers and the auction ending with no bids...
Sometimes this happens, I also tend to add multiple auctions for similar items in my watchlist and then put a bid only on one. Or none...0 -
I've seen people have notes on their listing along the lines of 'Do not watch this item unless you're going to bid on it'
Seem to recall the guy got many hundreds of watchers...
Personally I watch items then bid late. Sorry! My TV is broken!
Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j0 -
My bid will be the snipe ..set at 3 seconds before end of auction ...There is no point getting into a bidding war ..Us buyers have to have a bit of fun too.0

globalds.. Can you set something so you automatically bid last minute on ebay? I didnt know that, lol! im always sat there until the last seconds then usually refresh my page and its ended.0

There are a few ways of doing this .The two main ways seem to be on-line or software based on your own machine .
I use the software that is based on my computer ,so can't comment on the other type .
The one I use is called auction sentryhttp://www.auction-sentry.com/
Once you have set all your personal details user name, password, time zone ,etc.......and most importantly the time you wish to "snipe",counts backwards from the end of the auction.
Then just pick the item you want ...and ..wait ...."like a cunning old leopard"...and wait ...then kaboom in goes your snipe ...Only to find someone else has set theirs software at 2 seconds and they've won the item ....
seriously it works for me quite often also it helps to limit your heat of the momment bidding ...think about what it's worth, set the price limit in and go and watch a bit of telly or grab a pint.
There are a few of these types of software so have a look around .
** auction sentry has a free trial period ..ten days I think
****There is also a deluxe version ..I tried it and never won anything (bad Kama )so reinstalled the standard version
Hope that helps ...got on a bit of a roll their ...Sorry :O)0 -
Very quiet this weekend for watchers and bidders, bl**dy sunshine. The only interest I've had is from countries I don't post to and I'm thinking of only posting UK soon if I have any probs from the latest Italy / Malta buyers.0
