Solicitor writes to us that London-based mgmt company wants cheque to provide details of ground rent for leasehold flat we're selling. (i mention locations as too far to knock on London doors -we've hand delivered / emailed 99.9% of all correspondence for speed!)

We write back saying we don't want to pay, we feel the buyer should pay for additional proof. We have provided 13 years of invoices to the buyer's solicitor, (hand delivered to southampton solicitor) the buyers not bothered either, his mother lives in an adjacent flat - the lease is 125years.

Our Solicitor's office ignores this and later writes (who, bytheway, the one handling the 'conveyance' sat at a meeting on 31/july and made no mention their imminent 2 week vacation, followed by 1 week course)
sends cheque to London-based lease-owner, for details of ground rent.

WE'RE AT WITS END. There's no chain, offer received and offer made on property(s) 11 JUNE why should this be so painful.

Oh, xxx prepared their bills (31 July) before going on holiday!

Above is only the latest thing to happen

Q. forum followers, have you walked / would you advise walking away now and getting another solicitor.

Oh, didn't mention the estate agent recommended them!!!!!!!!!
