Redundant in Sept

Wondered if anyone can advise please. I am due to be made redundant in August as the company is closing and setting up a new company under a new name. We will all be made redundant from the old company but they haven't said which employees they will re-employ in the new company. My particular job is an absolute neccessity in the new company, although I am hoping I will be safe, I just wondered where I stood if they, for example, make me redundant and employ someone else to do my job. We've been kept hanging by a thread for months and on Friday we were advised the company is definitely closing.

Sounds like it could be a phoenix arrangement.
Will they be taking over contracts which they have already?

If they are setting up a new company and taking over contracts from an existing one, then I think you need to check TUPE regulations as the work will be the same and they should be using the same staff.

However if they can do it with fewer staff, they can move people around so you could indeed be in a redundancy situation because someone else could be engaged to do the work you have been doing.
