Barclaycard UNABLE TO LOCATEACCOUNT

Hi Everyone,

I would appreciate if anyone can help me out with this. I have applied for Barclaycard US to buy a Mac from Apple. everything went fine and I was approved and made my purchase. Then, for the monthly payment, I used my Chase bank account to do it.

I received and email saying "payment was received". I paid a week before deadline. Now (2 weeks later) that I look at the website and my statement, I see that I have DUE payments and I am late.

On my statement it shows that the funds were retrieved from Chase, but "UNABLE TO LOCATE ACCOUNT". What should I do? Will I be subject to late payment fees and bad credit?

Thanks,

Shaun

    1. No similar experiences.
    2. This is a UK forum.
    3. Why wouldn't you call them?
  • Have you contacted Barclaycard US regarding this?

Sounds as though the payment has been taken but not allocated to the account, so the computer will charge as a missed payment. You'll need to get them to tell you why and fix it for the next payment.

and insist that, as you had made the payment on time, and it is their error, you don't want to pay the fee or have a 'late payment' on your file.

I have had similar experiences - i.e. problems with payments made to CC accounts. My first step has always been to get the telephone number for the CC customer services and call them to sort it out.
loose does not rhyme with choose but lose does and is the word you meant to write.

    You radical!
  • Thanks everyone. I'll call them and see what happens.

    PS: I really didn't know it's a UK forum.
