How can I get Orange to do something about their useless network?
Both my OH and I have Orange phones and we have had them for about 3 years. The signal where we live has never been good as it is a rural area and we have to wonder around to get a clear signal, but in the past year it has got worse and worse. It is now at the point where 90 % of the time if I want to make a call I have to get in my car and drive to the next village to get a signal! It is useless.
We have contacted Orange several times to no avail and the last time I phoned to complain after there had been no signal at all for several days I was told that according to their status update the signal was "good". Hah I said, you come here and try to make a phone call. Even at work where I used to be able to make a call there is now no signal at all unless I stand in the car park.
I will change networks a.s.a.p. but it irritates me that I cannot get Orange to listen and do anything or even acknowledge that their network is crap. Writing, e-mailing, even phoning is all useless, they just ignore the complaints.
Has anyone got any ideas?

Theres very little you can do, due to the nature of mobile signals.
The only realistic way of improving it, would be to erect a new mast that can service your area properly.
some of your recent problems are more likly due to the merger into EE where they shut off some of the sites.
If you really want to be heard, you need to take it right to the top. Write a letter to someone high up in the chain.
This might end up getting you some compensation but chances are they wont do anything about the signal
Dont bother with the normal customer services, as they have very little power to do anything.0 -
We have actually offered to let them erect a mast on our land, but again had no reply.0

I can't see them commissioning new masts when they're decommissioning old one's.
A a simple matter of them cost cutting, and switching 3g masts to 4g.
When Orange and T merged they became the biggest UK network over night, they don't give a toss now if they lose a few customers. It's all just part of the churn...0 -
Simply having permission to put it on someones land is nothing really.
it still cost them alot to install and maintain. As well as needing agreement from everyone else in the area.
Theres an area where i used to live that had awful reception, but nothing could be done about it as every time a network planned to install something to cover the area the locals would complain and get it stopped.
The stupid thing was that some of the more vocal complainers also complained about the lack of signal0 -
I've heard about something called Signal Box which plugs into your broadband router and creates a 3G signal. I've got signal problems but can't convince Orange to provide one, I hope you have better luck.

i literally had to escalate my signal problems higher and higher till i eventually got a signal box its a life saver
keep complaining till you get oneWhat goes around-comes around0 -
Just cut and run. I went from 5 bars to nothing when they relocated a BTS and left me stranded.
Apart from soothing noises, nothing practical was done. I went o off the 3 other networks that had provided good coverage as standard.0
