PayPal Buyer Protection

I've always thought PayPal Buyer Protection was up to £500. On qualifying listings it used to say 'Choose PayPal for up to £500 buyer protection. See terms & conditions e.t.c but now I've noticed that some listings now only say ...up to £150. Are there different levels or something? Maybe it has always been this way but I've never noticed it in 4 years.
Hope someone can explain it

I think that's something to do with the end of ebay standard protection. The press release that came with that said that instead of ebay protection everyone would be getting paypal protection at different levels..so fine for paypal users but disastrous for anyone who still uses cheques etc for payment.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
