Hi there,
I think this is the right forum, but please point me in the right direction if it's not.
I'm moving back to the UK after living in the USA for 3½ years and am selling our house here. (Please let it sell soon!!!:undecided)
What's the best method of transfering the money from $ to £?
Thanks in advance.

I did it the other way. Transferring money from UK to US.
I used this tool to compare rates -

I've used TorFX and International Foreign Exchange. Both went through with no issues.
PS - Where's the house. My Mrs wants a new house0 -
Thanks neilbond007! That's great!
It's near the NH seacoast if the Mrs likes the seaside!0 -

Avoid getting the USD sent directly to your UK bank account as they will apply a generic 'tourist rate' and you wont know what rate you got until you check your bank statement.
I would recommend that you use an international money transfer specialist to convert the Dollars for you and get the most £££s for your $$$. Once you have registered with them, the US Dollar funds could be wired to their client US Dollar account, and they could convert the funds to Sterling at much better rates than all banks. Once you have booked a rate, the Sterling is sent to your nominated UK bank account. They will always let you know the rate before converting your funds unlike banks!0
