    Never had one!

If you interpret "contract" as being a document which you and your employer sign, then you aren't likely to have one. But surely you have received something in writing, as required by law. Did you not receive an offer in writing initially?

The "rule book" (aka staff handbook) is likely to be on your intranet and you would have been referred to that.

I can assure you I have never had or seen a contract of employment.
or rule book, or book of conditions.
We can only get onto our intranet with our own personnel email address and pass word. That's another story, the council have not got around to issuing all its staff with one or the other yet. Me included.

Very odd that a major city council can have somebody on the payroll who has not been issued with written particulars of their employment and that payroll would pay at a rate which didn't exist.

What band and spinal point are you now on?

Yes I was told the rate when I started, But what they are saying is that, that pay rate didn't exist even though someone put me on it!!
Incidentally I work at a concert hall that is owned by the council.

So are you actually an employee of the Council or of a Trust which runs the concert hall?
