Not sure if I should apply

If you applied for a job with a company and didn't get interviewed, then a while later the same job, only as a trainee comes up, would you apply for it? Or would they just throw the application in the bin?

Depends on why your application didn't get taken to interview stage before. If it was for lack of specific experience then a trainee position seems like a good starting point.

I doubt whether they would note your application and say, "hey, we turned this person down before so we'll do the same again even though it's a different position".

    Go for it! Good luck.

I think you should just go for it and apply, as long as the money and the terms of employment suit you. As anamenottaken said, if you didn't get an interview last time because of a lack of experience then this would be a good starting point, and then in a year or 2 you can go for a job with more responsibility and better pay when you've got the experience.

And of course, applying for a job doesn't mean you have to go ahead and do it if you suddenly change your mind.

I'd definitely say go for it. Especially if it's something you really want to get into. Good luck!

Thanks both of you, I'll go ahead and apply. Sure I've nothing to lose :) especially when I'd love the job. I'd say I was beaten to it before by others with more experience.
