Well done for asking first but for goodness sake, of course it is a scam.
You should expect a barrage of calls now one of them has your number, all guaranteeing a loan..... All scams0 -
If you do this they will then come back and say that they need another sum of money for 'insurance' or 'administration'. Any lender (as opposed to a broker - but don't pay them either) who asks for a fee before they release the money is running a scam.
I believe there are one or two genuine exceptions to this, but as a general rule never pay an upfront fee.I used to think that good grammar is important, but now I know that good wine is importanter.0 -
Some advice please, i have applied for a loan and advisor asked me to go to post office tomorrow and get a £150 paypoint voucher then phone them and give them a 19 digit code, they will then pay loan amount into my account, is this a scam ?? very confused

The only general exception is mortgages and business loans.

Walk away, this is a scam. They will never send you money but will keep asking you to send them more and more money until eventually the penny drops and you realise that the money flow is a one way thing.
Never ever provide your bank details over the phone to someone who claims to have a loan approved for you and never send a lender upfront money."We act as though comfort and luxury are the chief requirements of life, when all that we need to make us happy is something to be enthusiastic about” – Albert Einstein0 -
No no no no... There was something on the BBC about this same thing recently.
You won't get a loan, you won't get a refund but you will get bombarded with offers of loans and possibly even people offering to contact the original company on your behalf!
Don't do it!0 -
Sounds totally legit to me...... :wall:0
