in Cutting tax
I'm posting this for OH. On this site, he checked on the tax calculator, to see if he was eligible for a Tax Rebate. Which came back sadly, saying no.
At his works, he join the works Union.
In the paper work, they gave him, it says that they can cheek, if his entitled to a tax rebate. Well he filled out the forms, now they saying "they have identified a potential claim". The thing is they want 39% fee for doing the work.
Please can anyone tell me, how one says not entitled, other says potential ? How do we do the checks ourselves.

My guess is that, no. You would not have a claim.
If you have put in the figures correctly to the independent website, it is unlikely they are wrong.
I believe, by default, these claims companies will tell you that you "may" have a claim.
Post the figures here and someone will check them for you.
Which do a calculator, but I put some figures in a couple of months ago, and their calculator is wrong. The way that they calculate the tax on the dividend was wrong.
I recommended this calculator a few weeks back and I am afraid it is wrong.0 -
Also note that by submitting this paperwork, if ever in the future he is entitled to a refund then whoever currently holds this 'authority' will get that 39%.
Your DH needs to write to both HMRC and this organisation and withdraw his permission for them to act on his behalf. And keep a copy.Signature removed for peace of mind0
