  • Morning world :)

A nice day today. Struggled to get up but I'm still managing to get up earlier each day so it's going well. My aim is to get up earlier every day until I make it to when I'm SUPPOSED to be getting up lol. Dark cold mornings are awful though.

I've just paid 90p to CC to round my account down. Hoping every payment helps. Pay day is next week so few payments will be made until then.

DD doesn't have a winter coat and she needs one for Saturday (she is fully kitted out for the stables of course but not normal life!) so I'm going to make a trip to Primark as normally I'd order one from Next but would pay delivery and for that price I can go to Primark and get a cheaper one that will look as good and last as long. I have some money set aside for that tho. DS is fine and has enough.

I started wrapping xmas presents last night so that's a start and I'll try and do a few each week.

Aldi tonight for mid week top up - I need to work out what I've spent this month against budget. Will do now before I start another work task.

  • £205.39 spent and I still need to go tonight. Budget is £160 so well over. I'm going to joing the grocery challenge to get it down again as I'm becoming a lazy shopper/meal planner I fear.

I am however getting through things in the pantry lately so I'm pleased about that.

Bring it on, I want that new life for me and my family and won't get it whilst I have the burden of debt.

  • Found another supplier - they are all useless anyway but I was leaving on principle.
I've done some more reseach and reading - loving that.
Joined the grocery challenge too so I'll get on with the meal plans before pay day on Monday.
On target for today with everything so all in all I am pleased.
Also booked someone to come and check my router as I think it's breaking.

  • Morning :)

Rushed off my feet so just taking 5 to catch up with myself.

Money wise I only spent £10.79 in Aldi last night though I forgot cottage cheese, always something!

I need to make a start on my menu plan for next week as I'll have to get it on Sunday even though pay day isn't until Monday. I've joined the grocery challenge so will try to stay on track there.

Christmas presents are coming on nicely - I have some ideas ready to order when I get paid and I'm wrapping as I go and I've set a budget for them.

No payments expected now until the weekend and then it should be groceries and fuel only.

My key fob battery is going - so I need to get that changed and what's the chances it won't be cheap.

Well what a day, 2 people are leaving today following the redundancy announcement, maybe the start of many. Sad :(

I went out for lunch and spent £5.50 not budgetted for (she was only given 2 weeks notice) but I've off set it as instead of putting £5 into the birthday club we do, I'm getting the card and wrapping paper for which I will use credit I have in moon pig and paper I already have.

Going to the yard after work - not sure what time yet as if I wait until DS is ready for bed, I can take DD and she can ride. It's noce to have such decisions to make, reminds me life is good after all!

  • Bad news about redundancies, hope you are safe. Still lots going around, the FE part of my college has had a cut in funds and they have actively encouraged voluntary redundancies, I work in work based learning so am not affected this time.

r.e. electricty companies, I switched to e*n some time ago and have found them brilliant. There is no standing order charge which reduces the cost straight away, whilst the unit cost may be a little more than others it makes you think about what you're using. I've always submitted a monthly meter reading and they review your direct debit as needed. I've done my bill today and will be seeing a £17 reduction per month! yay.

  • Thanks hun - I plan on doing the monthly readings too. They are all robbings *****s IMO! At home, we've all knuckled down to reduce what we use and long may it continue.

I'm lucky as I'm safe this time but daren't look long term as nothing is safe.

Weekend starts in a minute for me, soooo looking forward to this one!
