Hi All,
What holiday allowance do you get in your current job?
I get 25 company days and all of the bank holidays.

My last job was 20 days and the BH for nearly 5 years and because the company couldn't keep staff (lost 15 team members in 5 years) as they all assumed they got 25 when they took the job/s on they (the company) after many years of arguments decided to increase the holidays for staff by 1 day when you had been there a year and up to 5 extra when you have been with them 5 years or more.
I had never had more than 20 plus the BH so it was a plus for me and I was never losing out before.
So if you had been there 5+ years you got 25 plus BHWe’ve had to remove your signature. Please check the Forum Rules if you’re unsure why it’s been removed and, if still unsure, email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
30 days + BH. Increased last year in lieu of a pay rise. I do work in FE though. Not as many as teaching staff but I know it is still good.0

I used to get 25 days plus BHs, but now I get 13 weeks as a teacher.
(but with the huge workload, probably end up with less than 25 days as a teacher!!)Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
I just get the minimum, 20 days plus bank holidays0

I'm a self employed freelance engineer. I have no holiday entiltlement. When I started in 2009, I took no holiday apart from BH when clients were not open, for 18 months. Now it's about 30 days including the odd long weekend. The good thing is nobody is counting, so if I work extra hours for a few weeks I can afford a week off if I want. Currently doing an extra 5 hours a week, so that every 2 months I can justify an extra week if I want. This contract finishes next June, so planning 5 weeks off solid0
