Rust patches on folding garden furniture
I hope this is the right place to post, as it is sort of greenfingered related even if not directly so.
I bought a set of steel-framed folding garden chairs (4 chairs and 2 recliners) and a table off ebay two years ago, but they don't get used very often. Most of the year they are in the paved back yard under a tarpauline. Unfortunately it has become a bit of a preferred hanging out spot for the neighbourhood feline brigade and the tarp has perished in a few places.
I took a closer look at it all the other day and there are a few rust patches on the steel. I'll probably have to do a bit of DIY repair on them at the very least to make them last another season and stop the rust spreading.
What's the most money-time-saving way of going about this? I imagine I'll have to get some sandpaper and some paint? Any old brand will do?
I'll definitely need a new tarp.
Hoping to hear from any of you greenfingered folk who have had to go through this too!
