e2save / osps new Pricematch deals...
I'm a bit of a 12 month free line rental deal junkie, free phone free minutes and maybe if i'm lucky make a little profit on top too. I have always (since forward cellular days) stuck to cpw group of companies for cashback deals and have always been successful on every claim.. its been good. But that looks like its all over (ish).
If any of you have been following the recent new deals on osps and e2save you will now notice the new "pricematch" deals that have much stricter terms and conditions.
In Summary 5 claims sending full (not summary) original bills (copies and online bills not accepted), any missed claim invalidates the entire cashback. All the pricematch claims go to the crewe (osps) address, and now doubt you would want to send them special with consequential loss (~£6 each time). If your claim is lost by royal mail then i suspect even that would invalidate your claim and subsequent claims.
First it was osps then e2save started the pricematch deals, at the moment cpw doesnt seem to have these same pricematch deals but most of their deals at the moment are pretty rubbish anyway.
Its such a shame that they have to copy other retailers methods of cashback (or tricks of attempting to deny cashback) when in the past they have had a good reputation (even I myself have had many successful deals with osps and e2save). I can only imagine that e2save/osps were probably paying too many successful claims for their 12m deals to be profitable...
So what do you reckon? is it worth taking the risk with the new stricter rules?
The deals are certainly there... and I was so tempted by the D900 12m free at osps...

You need to compare them with the deals on CNM and PBD as the t&c are the same, so you might get a better phone or more mins.
I think a lot of people will take the osps or e2save deals thinking they are as safe as the normal osps or e2save deals and will get their fingers burnt. I think CPW are taking a risk running these deals side by side of losing previously loyal osps or e2save customers.0 -
The test will come when those who have their claims rejected take legal action against those companies. It would be nice to hear from trading standards about the t&c from these companies as to whether they are considered fair. Will they be the new Mobile Rainbow?
Is it legally fair that because a claim has supposedly not arrived in the post that the buyer loses rights? Is action taken against a company if so many people take them to small claims court?
The main thing is that it looks as if it could be the end of the cashback deals as we have seen them.0 -
I just hope the CPW group dont use these terms for all their 12months free, free phone deals, as thye seem to be doing right now. If they put those terms on the more expensive phones, then it makes sense but not the low end models....0

i dont think it will be the end of cashback deals and if e2save were to end with normal t+c ppl will simply go elsewhere, as i certainly would take out a price match deal when u can get just as good ones on other reputable sites,0

These conditions are very strict, especially when all remainder cashbacks are invalidated with one incorrect/late etc claim.
it was hard enough when they brought in 3/4 claims replacing the old school 'whole cashback paid in month four' etc. Now we have to send original forms. Add to the mix other tricks like missing claim forms etc and it makes it so difficult to get a 100% 12month free deal.
Personally I would not recommend these deals but there are professional cashback claimers out there who can still take advantage of these offers. I wonder if it is legal for these deals to be offered as its just a blatent way of not paying out. Earlier the claims existed to protect retailers from claimers who changed tariff thereby affecting the company's commission etc but I feel this no longer applies as the networks don't let you change tariff before 6 months anyway.something missing0 -
thanks for the replies guys, i'm pretty sure these are the way things are going with cpw group of companies 12m line rental deals.
Thing is even though the deals are better at maybe other retailers like CNM or PBD I'd still be wary about their stability. CPW is by far a lot bigger company and the likelyhood of them having cashflow problems is a lot less. So its just about making sure the bills are sent at the right time with the right details etc etc..
Was considering maybe Dialaphone as a lot of good feedback about them.. but deals seem pretty scarce there too.ummm...0 -
Dialaphone are quite reputable, however like you said, I aint seen a good deal on their site in a long long time!0
