Taking Hire Cars Abroad

Hi,

We have 5 children and are looking at driving to France to save money as even with the cheapest no frills airlines it's going to cost over a grand to fly there and back (Toulouse area).

So we are looking at driving down, our own car does seat 7 but is cramped when you add in the luggage and so we are looking to hire something a little bigger.

I cannot find anyone that will hire a 9 seater and allow us to take it abroad, does anyone know if such a company exists?

(Drivers are over 40 and under 50)

I realise the hire car is going to be over a grand but we would have hired a car in any case if we'd flown due to the isolated nature of the gite we've hired.

Roof bars and a roof box would be cheaper, or even getting a tow bar fitted and getting a small trailer.
