Some sort of bindweed? Pretty sure it's a weed anyway:)0

Yes a horrible small convolvulus bindweed. Needs digging out. Please do not quote spam as this enables it to 'live on' once the spam post is removed.

Bindweed. If you dig it up, almost every piece of root left in the soil will grow a new plant.
Get yourself some glyphosate.
Bindweed likes to climb so if you push some canes into the soil by the weeds, they will grow up them and it's easy to apply weedkiller without damaging other plants.0 -

Bindweed, don't pull as it breaks easily & every teeny piece remaining starts a new plant. Dig it out carefully if you don't want to use weed killers0

Glyphosate will kill it, but it's quite resistant. The most effective method I've found is the plastic bag trick I read about on this forum.
Gather up as many shoots of the plant as possible and stuff them into a plastic bag. Squirt in some glyphosate, close up the bag and weight it down with a stone. Wait a few days, and the plant will be dead.If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.0 -
Thanks for the advice, I'll try and get hold of some Glyphosate tomorrow.0

Field bindweed. Use the plastic bag trick above, or take a length and curl it up into an empty pop or vinegar bottle half filled with glyphosate solution. Make sure you break the leaves first to speed up absorption. One application will not kill it, but it will damage it, and repeated application should clear it.
You can clear it by digging it out, but it takes a long time as there is an awful lot of stored energy in the below ground roots. The roots can do down 8m according to research, and I've dug down 1m, and found huge coils of the stuff. I hate the stuff.Warning: This forum may contain nuts.0 -
And by the way, glyphosate is much cheaper on ebay. All bottles tell you the concentration on the side, so you can see what you are buying.Warning: This forum may contain nuts.0
