Hi .... we bought a car on finance in november 2012 in approx 2 months the clutch felt funny so we took it back they wanted £70 but then decided not to charge as we argued we hadnt had it long it shouldnt have needed fixing so quickly .....today the clutch has gone and they said its £388 (because its wear and tear) ... we feel this car had a dodgy clutch from the start is there anything we can do .......
Thanks for any help

Shop around, you should be able to do better than £388 but then we have no clue what type of car it is, what age, mileage etc.

    Clutch is hard to prove
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.

Clutches always fall outside the scope of almmost any warranty because failure can be down to drivers resting their foot on the pedal. My mother used to get through about three clutches a year doing this.
I used to think that good grammar is important, but now I know that good wine is importanter.

Not buy a car designed as a run-around that's done nearly 20,000 miles per year...

Other than that I'm not sure. I guess as with all second hand car purchases it's a lottery. If it came with a warranty that covers the clutch then it shouldn't be a problem, otherwise I'd say that you're on your own.

She's 92, and thankfully we managed to convince her to give up driving before she killed or injured someone.
