The web address of the Gardening board has now been changed from https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/categories/greenfingered-moneysaving to https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/categories/gardening so that it is in line with the board's current name. Don't worry though, the old address will still redirect you here, but it's worth updating it in your saved links or browser favourites.

3 pest questions - are they linked?
1. The nasturtiums are in 3 hanging baskets this year, but I've seen massed black speck infestation on the underside of some leaves. I saw this only when removing wilting yellowing leaves, which condition surprised me.
The plants seems healthy, putting on replacement growth, apart from this.
2. Solomon's Seal leaves are being munched wholesale. Another 1st. Today I saw the little sods responsible. These:

3. Raspberry leaves, especially on one French variety, reduced to veins only. No culprit visible.
Are these linked?
What treatment please?

Nasturtiums are usually attacked by blackfly, I plant them next to my veggies so they are eaten and not my veg. Not lost any nasturtiums though, they're pretty resilient. Maybe remove & dispose of the worst infected leaves
Sawfly tend to defoliate I think so could well be that or caterpillars on your raspberries. Quote "Products containing the following chemical ingredients are all effective on Sawflies
Pyrethrum"
Not sure it'd be suitable on fruit, encourage birds & hand pick off as an organic alternative0 -
Thankyou ss - this morning I shook the solomon's seal stems and loads of the blighters fell off. Crushed underfoot.
Nasturtiums - I've been deadheading them. Shall i just let them set seed pods. They're rather like capers and have given me other plants in prev. years when in garden.
Birds come all the time, but the rasps are much affected - never before though.
I see loads of tiny snails on them. There's upward spray-watering going on gently atm. I shunt the sprinkler along every so often. Will this alone see them off perhaps? Otherwise it'll be pyrethrum, fruit permitting. I'll ask Scotsdales.
Many thanks for your input - much appreciated.CAP[UK]for FREE EXPERT DEBT &BUDGET HELP:
