Hgv expenses and tax credits

Am I right in thinking that expenses incurred for work ie road tolls,overnight parking and substinace payment can be taken off final amount from p60 for tax credits, these are paid back weekly on wage slip under expenses

The P60 figure used for tax credits should already remove those items as they are not taxable.

That's what I thought unless I've been paying tax on the expenses pay which will be another issue
