Hotels close to Heathrow Airport?

Travelling to Australia in November, wanted to know if any one can suggest a reasonable priced place to stay just for one night. As close to the airport as possible as will not have car as transport. Any help will be appreciated.

I have absolutely no idea about how you'd set about finding them but there are plenty of people around airports who do B&B and will look after your car for you (if any) and will take you to the airport in time to meet your flight (after early morning breakfast) and will meet your flight to pick you up again.

I just don't know how to find them. Sorry. I know they exist 'cos a friend recommended one near Gatwick - and I've forgotten how to find that one too.

If you Google "hotels near heathrow" or bed and breakfast near heathrow" you get loads of results. If you have a look through and then post any that interest you I could give you an idea of the area the establisment is in and how to get to Heathrow from there.
  • Try the Heathrow Lodge (just google it). About £45 for twin, free pickup from airport which saves £5 for the Hotel Hopper. Sorry, don't know about parking. But there are 1 or 2 pubs within a couple of minutes walk. Believe their breakfast are about £3.

Surprised the travel agent didn't offer a 'deal' on the hotels at the airport.

Why not think of it as an extra special start to your holiday & treat yourself? Sauna - spa - pool - they'll all be there for you?

You won't sleep the night before anyway - you'll be too excited! You'll then be tired & WILL sleep on the aircraft!!

Tip 1 - drink plenty carrot juice week or so before to help you beat jetlag!

Thank you for all your replies.
I have done a quick search as suggested, plenty of time, so will keep looking. I checked Heathrow Lodge up & Ibis which both look good. We will not have a car at all to park up as we are getting a lift down, thats why we are looking at a hotel that provides a shuttle bus.

I didnt ask agent at time of booking, as it was a suggestion my children came up with last week, their treat! Thats why I want cheapish, as they can not afford much, bless. I suppose we could put rest too, as you suggested for an extra special hotel. We are saving hard for spending money as we want to make the most of our stay in Australia as we are staying Perth, Sydney & Cairns.
Thanks for the jetlag tip, I pressume that you have tried this, and it works. Any more tips would be appreciated as it will be our first long haul trip.

NOPE!! Not tried it - but heard of it when we thought of doing what your doing!!Maybe this year!!??

& I REALLY rate the Perth area as a place to live - (dreaming again) it looks so clean & relativly unspoilt - but miles away from everywhere!!

Did you read the posts a couple months back for tips on what to do/where to go.

There'l be lots more coming your way!!

    NJOY!!!

I stayed at Harmondsworth Hall last year - less than 10 minutes by taxi from Heathrow - and it was a bargain. Good value (especially the family rooms) and much more charm than the hotel chains which aren't that much closer to the airport. Oh and the breakfast was good too!
