TAX Credit Helpline

Just spent this week trying to get through to the Tax Credits helpline, so I can let them know my Self Employment earnings for last year, Accountant has just finalised my income.
I spent Friday Monday on hold for approx 1 hr with no success finally gave up.
I finally got through today after 3/4 hr on hold, it took me approx 2 mins to give my details, after which I asked why it took me so long to get through to the adviser (David)
I AIRED MY COMPLAINT AND HIS ANSWER WAS THIS
'' ITS NOT BAD, SPEND A FEW MINUTES ON THE PHONE TO GET £1000'S FOR NOTHING
I asked him to repeat it as I knew the call was being recorded, but he wouldn't and went on to say he was terminating the call, and did.
I would like to get a copy of this recording of my phone call, can anyone tell me the process.

Just let it lie.
I can't even imagine how stressful it must be to deal with people who are irate and being on hold for such a long time and he was maybe just having an off moment. Surely you aren't greatly offended? Just do what I would have done...called him an idiot and moved onlol.
I have also been calling tax credits this week...4 times in total and always got through within 20 minutes.0 -
Why didn't you just fill in the renewal form?0

Wow, how unlucky are you, I've phoned them several times this week, at different times of the day. If the hold is going to be longer than ~20 minutes, they just cut you off and tell you to ring back. Average time for answering for me is 15 minutes.0

I doubt this was said becasue it isnt worth losing your job for.
I think the OP is just peed off with TC for the amount of time they have had to wait although as everyone else has already said, wait is only around 20mins.No One I Think Is In My Tree.:cool:0 -

What absolute nonsense. Queueing times have not been anymore than 20mins.0 -
A friend of mine who works for tax credits said that if the wait is expected to be in excess of 25 mins then they put on the automated message and you cannot go 'in the queue' to speak to an advisor.
I also cannot understand why anyone would wait for an hour and then give up! If I'd waited for an hour, I'd have waited until they answered. xx0 -
If you ring now, there is 0 waiting time. haha. Same every tuesday wednesday and thursday between 5-6 at the moment. Just to avoid any other MSE members having to endure the long waiting times OP had to deal withNo One I Think Is In My Tree.:cool:0
